AdDuplex Windows Phone Statistics Report for June 2014

This month we take a look at the Lumia 630 progress as well as list a bunch of phones for the new Windows Phone OEMs. Read on for details.

Data source

This report is based on data collected from 4311 Windows Phone apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2. The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of June 23rd, 2014 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated. We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model names under their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare model name variations were not accounted for.

Worldwide stats

Worldwide Top-10 is alike it was in May but in the same time it is totally different with quite few swaps.

It seems that Lumia 520, Lumia 625 and Lumia 920 settled down. For the second month in a row the TOP-3 looks the same. While Lumia 520 is giving away its percentage of the market with acceleration, 625 and 920 are getting up.

Now we can guess if any other device will interrupt the TOP-3 next month.

Though Lumia 521 threateningly jumped from 7th position to the 4th last month, it lost 1.2 % and fell down to the 6th place in June. It was surpassed by Lumia 620 and Lumia 720. Quite possibly this was just some anomaly in our data last month.

And finally, Lumia 925 left the last position of the Top-10 beating Lumia 800.

Lumia 630 has moved from #30 last month to #20 in June. It will be interesting to see how fast (if at all) it gets into the territory of its older siblings.

Apparently WP 8.1 keeps growing with bigger and bigger leap every month. It had 7.7 % of the market by 23rd of June. It’s 2.5 % more than last month.

Not much to say about manufactures chart again. HTC gave away 0.2 % to Nokia and Samsung, 0.1 % each. Having said that, we see finally see devices from the new OEMs. Even if in minimal quantities. (More on that later).

United States

clip_image004

If in the worldwide chart almost all devices changed their positions, there is almost no movement in US Windows Phone market. There are only two changes worth mentioning. Lumia 521 and 520 stopped growing as it is globally. However they take more than a half of the US market. And Lumia 1520 is making its path through to 9th position swapping with Lumia 900.

Australia

clip_image005

Australia has lost two devices from the chart since April: Samsung ATIV S and Lumia 800, which were in the 10th and 7th places (respectively). Accordingly to that, two new players jumped in. Lumia 1520 and 720 are sharing 9th and 8th positions, each having 2.6 % of the Australian market.

Seems that Lumia 920 and 625 are playing some kind of game. They swapped 2nd and 3rd positions again but are still pretty close to each other.

Chile

clip_image006

This is the first time we are covering this country. Lumia 520 is a bold leader here with 43.4 %, while the closest player in the chart (Lumia 505) has only 8.5 % of the WP market in Chile.

China

The top of the chart has not changed in the last two month. Actually, for more than four month first three positions belong to Lumia 920, Lumia 520 and Lumia 925. However there are few changes. Lumia 1520 moved to 6th position and Lumia 1020 moved from 10th to 7th.

Mexico

clip_image008

We haven’t reviewed Mexico Windows Phone chart since last November. And actually almost nothing has changed here. Lumia 505 left 2nd place and gave it away to Lumia 710 with difference in 0.2 %. And Lumia 625 jumped up from 10th to 5th position and now has 7.7 % of the WP market there.

Ireland

clip_image009

It’s been a while since we covered this country also. Lumia 520 hasn’t left the #1 position since last October and now it has 46.4% share.

We said bye-bye to Lumia 900, which was in the 10th place before and HTC 8X left his brother HTC 8S to stand alone in the chart in the 9th position this month.

Lumia 625 is a newbie in Ireland WP chart and it’s in the 2nd position now.

Germany

Lumia 625 moved to the #9 position and now HTC 8X is one step closer to the edge. Lumia 620 took one step higher and took away #6 place from Lumia 800 and Lumia 1020 jumped to 7th place since April.

Italy

clip_image011

Finally! This is the country which has the new Lumia 630 in the chart. Though it is in the 10th place but it already has 2.4 % of the market. A good sign from one of the most successful markets for Windows Phone.

L620 and L920, both took steps down from #3 and #4 to #5 and #6. L625 shifted with L620 and now is in Top-3.

Netherlands

clip_image012

It’s been almost a year since we talked about Windows Phone market in this country. Lumia 520 is in the 1st place here with 20.4% and Lumia 920 is breathing to its back with 15.9%.

Devices that are new in the chart: L925, L625, L1020 and Samsung ATIV S.

Devices that had to be sacrificed and leave the chart are: HTC 8S, L710, L900 and Huawei W1.

United Kingdom
