AdDuplex Windows Phone Statistics Report for October 2013

It’s time for another Windows Phone statistics report. There’s a new number one Windows Phone and a Windows Phone 8 mobile operator in the US, Nokia continues its domination and more. Read on for the details.

Data source

This report is based on data collected from 1,411 Windows Phone apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2. The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of October 11th, 2013 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated. We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model names under their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare model name variations were not accounted for.

Worldwide stats

It’s no surprise that Lumia 520 is continuing its rise as the top Windows Phone device out there (+1.9%). The newer flagships are still nowhere to be seen in the top 10 though. Only if we exclude the WP7 models we see the Lumia 925 at no.10.

AdDuplex Quiz and Challenge on DVLUP

DVLUP is a great gamified developer program from Nokia that lets you win awesome prizes starting from coffee to t-shirts to great Nokia devices to various opportunities to promote your apps. They’ve just expanded to support more markets (still no Lithuania *cough* *cough*) and they will be expanding further. If you are a Windows Phone developer in one of the supported countries there’s just no excuse to ignore the program. You can get great prizes by essentially just doing what you already like to do – building Windows Phone apps.

I’m happy to announce that we have partnered with DVLUP to provide both app marketing reward prizes and ways for you to earn more XPs (experience points).

As an AdDuplex user you will have no problems getting the easy 100 XPs from the AdDuplex Quiz Challenge. And if you have another app you have been meaning to put on AdDuplex you can get additional 250 XPs by doing just that. And don’t forget that you’ll be eligible to win either the Surface 2 or an upcoming flagship phone from Nokia.

You can read more about the program and this partnership in this great blog post on DVLUP.

AdDuplex HTML/JavaScript SDK for Windows Store Apps is Out

We are happy to announce the immediate availability of the final release of our SDK for HTML/JavaScript based Windows Store apps.

You can install the extension by searching for AdDuplex in the Visual Studio Gallery directly from within Visual Studio (Tools > Extensions and Updates > Online > Visual Studio Gallery) or just get it from the Gallery web page.

We would like to thank all the developers that helped us test the SDK during the Beta period and especially those that did it during the very early days of closed beta including developers of such apps as Just Words, Jumping Squares and Cubic News. Those who participated and published their apps during the public Beta phase should see their exchange ratios bumped up too.

Thank you very much and best of luck with your awesome apps!
